Congregation in Ottawa Severs Its Ties with the ELCIC — At a second duly-called congregational meeting held December 18th, the members of All Saints Lutheran Church, Ottawa confirmed that they server their ties with the ELCIC. The vote was 92 in favour with 9 against.
Newly recv'd 121211: Alberta Synod Congregation Severs Its Ties with the ELCIC Trinity Lutheran, Ponoka, Alberta held their second vote on Sunday, December 11th and passed the motion to leave with 87 in favor and 5 opposed (94%).
Newly recv'd 121211: Solid Ground Intention to Disband: In a recent posting, the remaining executive of Solid Ground Ministry/Canada have announced that they will resign by the end of this year, and, accordingly, Solid Ground will dissolve unless there are sufficient individuals within the ELCIC willing to come forward to keep the corporation active beyond December 31, 2011. Newly recv'd 121211: Eastern Synod Congregation Leaves the ELCIC: On November 20, 2011, members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, North York, Ontario voted overwhelmingly (87%) to ratify their initial action to leave the ELCIC. The results were: 69 for and 9 against. This was the final of two ballots needed to break with the ELCIC. Reflecting on the outcome of the vote, the Council Chair, observed, “The Lord is undoubtedly doing His work in His church. I think that He is pruning us whom He loves to produce better and more fruits. To God be the glory!”

On July 14th, the first day of the ELCIC National Convention, Lutherans Concerned-North America posted a letter that 141 ELCIC pastors sent to the ELCIC’s National Council to expressing support for the revised Social Statement on Human Sexuality and the three related motions arising from the Social Statement.
